  Hi ,

I have just returned from an almost 6000 km roadtrip Bris to Perth via Katherine /Broome  travelling through the Kimberleys and Pilbara regions .At the moment it is very hot and dry but the changing landscape is full of breathtakingly beautiful surprises and colours ....which I am hoping to re create some art works from ....

Permanent Display at Ribbetts in Brisbane



Hi ,

I have just returned from a road trip Brisbane -Perth via  Broome travelling through the Kimberleys and Pilbara .At the moment it is Hot ! hot! Hot! and dry ! dry ! dry! up there ...lots of dry creek beds ,dust and flies  .... I have taken  over 1800 pics that I hope to create some paintings with .The colours are very different to the coast ...reds predominate ...and the landscape is breathtaking in some places...so now that I have unpacked back to the easel.......

I am a visual artist working from my studio in Brisbane. I have a permanent art display at Ribbetts in Brisbane where you are welcome to collect from .

Although I have studied acrylic  and marine art at the Brisbane Institute of Art I am fulfilling a life time dream at the moment of completing a Degree in Visual Art which will add a lot of different methods/application and a new way at looking at my work .

I like my paintings to give the viewer a feeling of relaxation ..peace ..tranquility ..an appreciation of nature and its beauty ...a moment of reflection .....to look at the bigger picture ..

Ribbetts Restaurant where I display my art ....

Have just begun to experiment with acrylic ink ..it is an easy medium ..it has it own flow and movement .....it wants to mingle and create its own pool of colour ..it is light and less restrictive than normal acrylic paint  ..it is exciting to see the bright results . It allows me to show more of my sketching skills ....................Gill
