My Photography
Photography has been my
passion for over 20 years, after I bought my first camera in 1983,
a trusty and very sturdy Zenit, with my paper-round money :-) Over
the years I have built up quite a collection of images mostly of natural
history.
From the Zenit I upgraded
to a Minolta XG-M, then to one of the early Canon EOS cameras. Unfortunately
I lost interest a little at this point becaue the Canon was so plasticy
and lightweight (remember I started with a Zenit!!!!) - it felt more
like a toy that a camera. I changed over to Nikon when I moved out
to Australia in 1997, and am glad to say haven't looked back since
- it feels like a REAL camera and my latest upgrade to a digital Nikon
even SOUNDS like a camera (very important feature :-)
Although many of my images
are on slide (I love Fuji Velvia ISO50 - it really brings out all
those beautiful bold Australian colours), I have finally jumped into
digital. Still getting used to the whole concept, but loving never
running out of film!!
How would I describe my
photographs? That's easy! I love to represent colour, shape and texture.
Life is a colourful and vibrant thing.
