I am delighted to welcome you to my 'About Me' page!

I am a Professional West Australian Artist and Illustrator (Anthea M - Art and Design). I have paintings in private collections in Canada, England, America, Norway, Germany and Japan, and I have a large amount here, right across Australia. Along with my interest in Art, I am a Professional Pianist/Musician and I play and teach many instruments, and am often heavily involved (along with my son) in Theatrical Productions at our Community Theatre.

I am lucky enough to have come from a very talented family! Both of my parents were accomplished musicians and music teachers, my father unfortunately is no longer with us, but my mother is, and along with her musicianship, she is also an award winning artist. My sister is very well known in the Arts both here in Australia and Internationally.

My art is very special to me, and I accept commissions for Fine Art, Portraits and Illustrations, as well as holding and participating in exhibitions here in WA. I have done a lot of portraiture in my time (both animals and people) and I love to paint anything with ifein it hence the inclusion of some sort of animal or bird or human in nearly everything I do! I really enjoy drawing and painting people and children, plus I will often do a series of paintings on a heme(e.g. usical or irds of preyor by breed I also enjoy escaping into the realms of antasyartwork, and this is a blend of my own style of realism with my own imagination

I love Illustrative Art and have a very realistic style which looks superb in both black and white (Ink or Charcoal/Graphite etc) and coloured mediums. I have had my Artwork published on book covers, as internal illustrations in books and magazines, and online on Websites.

Also Fine Art, some examples of my Illustration and some ACEO's. I try and update the website regularly, so even if you have been there before, it is worth another look! :-)

There is also my Blog Anthea M - An Artists Journal where I shall try to give you an insight into the process of creating my works of art. Here I can sometimes show you a 'Work in Progress', or perhaps give you a sneak preview of something before it is listed (ACEO's or other art) or other completed Artwork... also some interesting Artistic snippets that I pick up along the way...

In response to requests to see the 'face' behind the name ... I have included a personal photograph of myself and my wonderful son, Adam - who is a computer whizz and always comes running when I yell for help - (I'm the one without the beard !!! LOL) - he is not only exceptional at the computer, but he is also a very talented young man when it comes to the Arts - his main area of skill is in writing - he has written Short Stories (some which have been published) and is currently working on his first novel! Also in the photograph you will see my two beautiful 'babies', Freddy and Bobbi! - sooooo spoilt!!!!
