After teaching art in Scotland for ten years, I emigrated to Australia having done a teacher exchange. I am currently teaching art in a private college and have a love of art, photography & nature.
I have always loved art since I was very young and was always drawing. Silk painting is one of the most satisfying and exciting art forms that I have worked with and I particularly enjoy the fresh, jewel-like quality of the colours and their transparency when held up to the light, almost like a stained-glass window. I also enjoy doing pastel and graphite drawings and my inspiration comes from the abundance of flora and fauna in Australia and my love of cats.
I am very lucky to live in Queensland where my husband and I are able to feed the backyard birds and as an artist, I am able to get very close to these gorgeous feathered friends to photograph and paint them.
