How can you choose a ring on eBay unless you know the correct size? You can't try the ring on, and it can be difficult to exchange it if you get the size wrong.
1. Go to a Jeweller
The simplest and best method is to have your ring size measured by a jeweller. It takes a few seconds, and you'll have accurate information.
2. Check for yourself
The best way to get a measurement if you can't get to a jeweller is to carefuly measure the inside diameter of a ring that you already have. Simply measuring your finger with a piece of string or paper is likely to give an inaccurate result.
3. Ring size charts
You can find ring size charts on the internet - a Google search will turn up plenty. They'll give exact measurements of internal diameter and circumference for rings, You can compare ring sizes from different countries. Australia follows the UK system, which arranges sizes from A to Z. The US uses a numerical order, from 1 to 14. Unfortunately, the two systems don't exactly match, so a comparison chart can help you.
Always keep in mind that your fingers can vary in size, depending on the weather.
A ring that's too small will never be comfortable, but a ring that is slightly too large will cater for those warm days.
I hope this helps someone
How To Care For Your Titanium Rings
Cleaning
To clean your titanium rings, use warm soapy water using a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Scratches
Titanium is much harder than gold, silver or platinum, but is not scratch-proof.
To help prevent scratching, I recommend you not wear the ring while doing manual work such as gardening or while using abrasive materials.
Polished titanium rings can be polished by your local jeweller to make them look like new.
PVD Coated Jewellery
My new range of PVD-coated titanium rings look great.
I had to find out exactly what PVD means.
Here's what it means for you, if you are looking at PVD-coated jewellery.
PVD (physical vapour deposition) is a type of coating applied to metal as an alternative to electroplating. The material forms a thin coating on the metal. It is commonly used for coating bathroom fittings such as taps, as well as jewellery.
Features
-
Superior hardness and wear resistant
-
Does not discolour or tarnish
-
Reasonably high corrosion resistance
- Does not suffer under UV radiation
My PVD-coated titanium rings are suitable for dress rings. The coating is strong and hard, but it can be scratched while doing hard manual work.
