Being one of the Worlds' Biggest Kids is great. At aged 59 I'm old enough to know better and still too young to care. I've dabbled in N scale model trains off and on for years, always had fun and involved my kids when they were young and now, My Margarets' grandkids. The're 3 boys, aged 5 8 and 11. All us kids get out in the garage, hammering, painting and running trains. It's a good family hobby and being retired early ( HOORAY!!). I have plenty to do to keep the Grey Matter intact well, sort of. Living North of Townsville is great for us big kids. There's the Air Force F111's, Hornets,Caribou Transports, Hercules, and a whole range of helicopters fly over in Halifax Bay outside our back door all at very low heights, ya gota love Townsville.
I've found using E-bay to purchase Model Trains a huge help. The range is sensational, prices are cheaper than local shops, (not that we have a great many up here) and after awhile the sellers you use become part of your hobby. I wrote the 3 guides to try to give a little back to the hobby and to encourage newcomers to stay in the hobby, there's a lot of fun to be enjoyed for yourself and the kids in your life. Now more than ever before,we need a lot of big kids around.
As my Grandfather used to say." Don't take life too serious, we are'nt going to get out of it alive." I live life with that in mind every day, the best bit of advice you can get. May I wish you all safe and succesful bidding and happy days to all. Kind Regards Denis8579
