Copyright exists in MIDI
Files just like a sound recording. While it's OK to make your own MIDI
Files and play them at home and gigs, it becomes a legal issue when unlicensed
MIDI Files (also known as 'midis') are posted on a website. Each
HitTrax MIDI File is fully licensed and royalty paid through AMCOS.
This means we pay royalties on every sale to the songwriter, lyric writer
and the Programmer of the song. No one misses out on rightful income for
their works.

Lyrics are included where
we have been able to have them licensed through the publishers. This applies
to most of the catalogue. We pay a royalty on each MIDI File sold for
the use of the lyrics which is paid direct to the lyricist of the song.
