Hi my name is Joá Johnson and I live in Lismore, Australia. 

I think I've been interested in art and crafts for as long as I can remember. I've tried just about everything from knitting, pottery, sewing to painting. I seem to always go back to painting it's the most challenging.

Almost 10 years ago, I found this amazing art teacher who, even though I only managed a dozen or so lessons with her before she retired, showed me I had the skills to paint if I really put my mind to it. I completely fell in love with working in soft pastels and developed my own style. Unfortunately, life and family commitments restricted the amount of time I could spend on my art for many years. It was only at the end of last year that I picked up a paint brush to do a couple of name plaques for my grandchildren for Xmas.

It was then that the old passion for painting came rushing back! I had never really used Acrylics before, nothing serious anyway; and using brushes was totally alien to me. However, it all seemed to come together quite easily. I continue to surprise even myself!! :)  I was talked into having a go at selling a couple of my larger paintings on ebay in February this year, which I did. Unfortunately not too successfully as after a month I had only sold one painting. It was during this time that I noticed a lot of art with ACEO in the discription. It sparked my curiosity, so I googled ACEO and 'discovered' this amazing form of art!!

That was the start of this amazing journey I've been on ever since! I've met and continue to meet some of the most incredibly talented people who also paint in this format. What's blown me away, is they are all such lovely people as well!!!

I will continue with these cards as long as there are people out there who are interesting in my work. I only work in Acrylics at the moment, however I've tried coloured pencil...haven't seen any of my coloured pencil work?....that's because it's not good enough yet to list!!...lolol

I hope to find new and intersting themes to add to my work and I know will continue to love doing what I am doing.....I must, as it almost totally consumes my life at the moment...:)
