Liquid Glass Oz

is a wholly Australian based, owned and run company. It was established by Aussie brothers Phil and Col Rodrick, with the aim to bring the best of products to the Australian market, at the best possible prices, and to do so with best customer service that they could deliver.

Phil and Col may be brothers but their interests are quite diverse, and these are reflected in the range of products they are currently offering through their listings on Ebay and elsewhere, and through their Ebay store. 

Phil Rodrick

lives and works on the Central Coast of New South Wales, near Woy Woy.  He is a fully qualified diamond setter and has a breadth of experience in this industry spanning over 20 years.  Having worked for some of the biggest names in the jewelery industry, Phil's objective was to find the best suppliers of the best products he can and to market them at similar prices to the shoddy alternatives you often find in these marketplaces.  Phil's sporting interests include boating, kayaking, and snow skiing and boarding.

Col Rodrick

lives on the Far North Coast of New South Wales in the surf resort town of Lennox Head. Col had a long career in Defence, working principally in logistics.  In his early days he was a procurement and inventory management officer, responsible for a wide range of Defence materiel and its distribution to Naval units. Later, he was trained in Total Quality Management, and managed a number of system development projects for the Navy, where he acquired an eye for detail, which helped to establish exceptional customer service delivery, which he also demanded from his contractors.  After almost 20 years he elected to take an early retirement package and relocate his young family to the coast.  Col is a keen surfer and says that he lives for his next trip to Indonesia or other far flung places where he can try new cuisine, dabble in local languages, and of course get in some quality waves, while trying out new equipment.

Both principals of Liquid Glass Oz love the Ebay buying and selling experience.  However there are some things they just hate:

• like the anonymous sellers - who are these guys and will they look after me after they have my money?
• dubious product quality - they say it meets world standards, or has such and such (never specified) a certificate, but, when it arrives, will the item be all it is cracked up to be?
• false claims about being local - the alarm bells start ringing when the seller has been a member in CHINA or HONG KONG since the year dot and is now selling on the Australian Ebay site.  It rubs salt into the wound to see our flag and other Aussie icons being used to deliberately mislead buyers.
• poorly written or ambiguous English - there are several sellers whose listings are inconsistent - eg warranties that are 6 months AND 24 months, so which one is it? 
• questions about listings that are not responded to, or if they are, the English is so bad it cannot be readily understood.

Liquid Glass Oz deliberately operates in a way that counters these negative points, of an otherwise fantastic and rewarding marketplace.  For instance, everything Liquid Glass Oz does is designed to meet local business requirements in Australia and to reflect its high standards for ethical behaviour and corporate governance.  The company is registered in NSW, it has an ABN, provides tax invoices and gives warranties that it stands behind.  Commercial electrical products are manufactured to the required standard and if an item has to be passed by an Australian Department it is.  Other products have been subjected to extensive testing before shipment and suppliers were selected on the basis of their production and quality management procedures, not just good prices.

About Quality and Customer Service

Before leaving the factory where they were made, all Liquid Glass Oz products passed an internationally-accepted quality inspection program (ISO 2859-1/Mil Std 105E).  Before being shipped to Liquid Glass Oz customers they are again inspected, as a final guarantee of quality and customer satisfaction.

EBay customers of Liquid Glass Oz .are asked to inspect the goods on arrival and to report back immediately if there are any problems.  If the products arrive in very good condition positive feedback is requested.  If, however, products do not arrive on time, or as expected (ie with some damage in shipment, or possibly a manufacturing fault), customers should report this via email or Ebay message ASAP.  Liquid Glass Oz staff are keen to resolve any issue as fast as possible, but they are only human - they cannot fix a problem they do not know about. Customers are urged to adhere to Ebay's policy on resolving issues (ie refer any problems to the supplier directly, rather than simply leaving negative feedback).

For peace of mind, most Liquid Glass Oz products come with a 6 month manufacturer's warranty.  Most suppliers in Australia need to get faulty items back so they can be returned to the manufacturer for credit.  Liquid Glass Oz is no different.  In the unlikely event of a faulty item, customers will also be asked to describe how the fault appeared (eg what were you doing or what happened to highlight the problem).  This sounds trivial, but manufacturers need this information to help with continual product improvement, which leads to better quality in the market and more satisfied Liquid Glass Oz customers.
