We are located in West Pennant Hills, NSW, Australia. We've been on the internet since 1995. Back then, the internet was black text on a grey background.
One of the things I most enjoy about trading on eBay is seeing the joy and satisfaction buyers get from receiving goods quickly from us, and people deriving satisfaction from discovering the internet and buying items online. We strive as much as possible to ensure that if buyers pay us quickly, we ship quickly. Sometimes that means, after having just returned from the post office, I leave again to get another item in the post just before they close. A day earlier at our end means our customers get their item a day earlier too. For me, Thursday is mission critical day. If we receive payments on Thursday, I make every effort to ensure items are posted before midday so we can increase the likelihood of buyers getting their items before the weekend. Making people happy makes me happy.
We use Australia Post bulk mail lodgement. It's a service where we can leave all our parcels and mail at a distribution centre and items are posted and the fees added to our account. We use the Australia Post online calculator to calculate fees payable for our eBay listings, however, sometimes it is wrong OR Australia Post staff use a different method to calculate fees on a particular item - for example, they might charge out an item as a large letter instead of a small parcel OR by cubic weight instead of package weight.
For us it means we are sometimes wrong - sometimes we undercharge postage and other items we have over-charged. Sometimes we have charged $16 for postage which should have been $28 and other times $17 when AustPost only charged us $4. In either case we WILL NOT make an adjustment. We won't ask you to pay more money for postage NOR will we refund you if you are over-charged. It isn't worth our time to go to the post office get several quotes for a particular item because, again, this could change once we lodge the item for posting. Generally, across the board, we break even using bulk lodgement.
Just once it would be nice if someone left glowing feedback about how we paid $28 for their postage instead of the $12 they were charged, rather than the negative feedback we get everytime it goes the other way. Are humans really all that bitter?
We value people who choose to shop with us and in every respect we try to treat people the way we would like to be treated. On eBay that primarily means these things:
- The new products we sell are of the highest quality available and are either used by us or a sample has been tested by us.
- The used products we sell are also of the highest quality and any faults or points of interest are also described as best as possible. Given that I am also a very picky person, any items I sell that were my own, have been very well looked after and very well maintained.
- Any products we sell are posted as soon as possible. I like receiving my items quickly so I also post as quickly as possible (mostly the same day payment is received).
