What can go wrong with a stringed instrument, such as a violin,
viola or cello:
The most common thing is a bad bridge,
either too high, too low, not adjusted to the shape of the body of the
violin, wrong curve, wrong distance of strings, too thick or too thin,
warped.
The other problems can be bad fitting of pegs, too high or too low
grooves in the nut, where the strings enter the peg box, open seams,
bad bow or worn case.
