Japanese Underworld vs Uchikake Kimono

Welcome, welcome! I'm an Aussie mum living in the deep countryside of Japan. I first came to Japan in 1996 when I was in High School, and jumped at the chance to come back and work in 2000. Now nine years later, I'm married to a gentle Japanese man and we have a little boy, 2, who keeps me on my toes. Although I'm from the Gold Coast, my family are scattered all over Australia, which makes for a great travel diary when we're back in Oz catching up with friends and rellies once a year.
I'm passionate about my new family, travel, great reads, fresh avocado and salmon, increasing my Camper shoes collection and original kids' clothing. You can check my personal blog at http://mel-and-seigo.blogspot.com/
Although I've been selling delicious Japanese yuzen washi paper on eBay for years, having a baby changed my outlook on life in so many ways. My son is always dressed in affordable, yet funky Japanese clothing, so I'm super excited about offering gorgeous Japanese kids clothing at reasonable prices to my always-friendly customers. My pieces are exclusive to Japan, so you're assured your little guy or girl will stand out from the crowd in these threads!
After quite a while in Japan now, I've finally reached fluency in Japanese. I spent many years, tears and dollars struggling to achieve my goal, so realise how frustrating it can be. I sell Japanese language aids to try and help others struggling down the bilingual path. For anyone who needs some advice or help with Japanese, I'm only ever an email away :)
I've always loved the culture and beauty that is the country of Japan, its people, traditional kimono materials and handmade paper. I buy and collect from a range of sources, inspired by the vibrant yet harsh Japanese seasons, friendly smiling faces and potential of the stunning materials. I hope to inspire my customers alike with the combination of gorgeous handmade washi and origami paper, vibrant fabrics, funky original clothing, genuine friendly service and attention to detail.
If ever you're buying as a gift for someone, be sure to let me know. I can gift wrap your purchase in lovely traditional Japanese paper for an extra gold coin donation. So much easier than doing it yourself and your special someone will be delighted with the original thought and papers.
I often get requests from customers all around the world, looking for something in particular. By all means, contact me and I'll do my best to help you find that something special...
Thanks for visiting,
Melanie
