One Sixth Couture

One Sixth Couture patterns are now available in PDF! No need to wait for the postperson to deliver as they are sent direct to your inbox within 24 hours (unless otherwise advised). You can start sewing almost straight away!

You MUST have at least 5 - 6Mb of space available PER PATTERN in your inbox and ensure that your ISP/mail service allows files of that size as well. Also, please check your spam folders incase the patterns may have landed there.

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
Due to my life running like a perpetual episode of Days of Our Lives, patterns and doll garments will be produced as time and sanity allows.

Update for July 2007 - Due to sales being very slow (less than 1 pattern sold per month), I have removed all doll patterns until later in 2007 when even more Fashion Royalty patterns should be available. Please check back.

Update for April 2007 - "Medieval Maiden" and "Cala Lilly" patterns have been officially RETIRED. These patterns will still be available on the One Sixth website until the end of the year. "Basic Hommes - Shirts" is almost ready to publish! Now your Fashion Royalty guys can be attired in shirts of your chosing and design! Pattern will contain pieces and instructions for loose fit business shirt, fitted shirt and tie! Both shirts have long sleeve and short sleeve options but no breast pocket.

Keep an eye out for....
"Marmion" due out in the next couple of months!

Marmion hopefully will be ready for release before the end of 2007! It needs some more toilling and final garments produced. I'm getting there, albeit a little slow due to life. This pattern will cost a little more than other One Sixth Couture patterns as there has been a lot more work than usual put into this pattern - at least 2 years worth of work in the pattern concept alone! There will be roughly 54 different combinations you can make with the Marmion pattern! You choose the front neckline, back neckline and skirt type to create your gown or make your own couture separates! Marmion will come in both Fashion Royalty/Silkstone and taller Fashion Royalty sizing options.

There are plenty of new patterns in the works for 2007/2008 and I am still hoping to release one pattern per month (life schedule permitting), so please check back often. If you wish to be added to my first to know list, please e-mail me via 'Ask Seller a Question' with your e-mail address and I shall add you. This is a private list and is not handled by any third party company or person... just me. E-mails are issued on a once a month or less basis.

Background Guff if You are Curious
I have been making my own clothes since I was 13. I was asked to reproduce an outfit worn by Prince for an old school friend when I was 19 and have been sewing professionally on and off since.

I have been an ice skater longer than I care to admit and I have also had a hand in designing and making skating costumes. To add another notch to my sewing belt, I have also had my fingers on bridal gowns, evening wear and I am a milliner as well. Alas, footwear and jewellery is something I have yet to accomplish...

After accumulating fabric scraps along the way that were too small to make a garment from and too big to throw away, I thought I would haul myself off to the nearest fabric store and see what was available in the craft section of the pattern books. After going crazy with what I was affronted with, I settled on a childhood favourite.... B@rbie. I snapped up the available patterns and headed home to attack my fabric stash. I originally made doll clothing for children, but with all the time and effort involved it really wasn't worth it. I was selling homemade B@arbie clothing at a local market for almost next to nothing and after overhearing a rude parent complain bitterly that my doll skirts were overpriced at the cost $2 each.... I gave up. She draged her daughter away whilst mumbling that she could get a whole outfit in a junk/cheap/thrift/frugal store for $4. The quality of some of those garments is pretty bad and the fabrics are even worse! That was 1995/1996.

In mid 1996, I happened to be watching a midday talk show when a woman came on from the Australian Barbie Club. I frantically wrote down the contact details and made my enquiries. Upon attending my first Barbie meeting in Sydney with my Showgirl doll in hand that I had specially created (thinking I was 'it and a bit') I met a OOAK artist... some of you may know him... Jozef Szekeres. He turned up with his Golden Harp Barbie. Well, I headed home with my tail between my legs and vowed never come back. Hehehe... wrong! I should mention here that I am currently associated with Jozef and his Elizabet & Kotalin Bizelle dolls as his sidekick creating the inital patterns and protoype garments from his amazing sketches.

At the end of 1996 I was newly connected to the internet and was looking up B@rbie as my very first serch. My eyes were opened to the world of collectible dolls. Unfortunately, they were very expensive and none were available here in Australia. So, after raiding the fabric box again and several fabric stores, I began creating more 'higher quality' garments for my girls. A bit of beading here and there, a hat or two, three, ten and lace everywhere!

After buying commercial patterns for quite a while, I was getting frustrated with the poor fit (too big, lack of shape or just not sitting right) and lack of any kind 'reality' in the patterns offered. So, using the skills I have picked up along the way, I started manipulating old commercial patterns to create new OOAK garments (couture in miniature if you like ;-P). I could only get so far, I really needed to learn to draft patterns from scratch for both dolls and humans. I took myself off to the local evening college and learnt pattern drafting. That was 2004 and I haven't looked back!

I am known in real life for my eccentricities, my love of gothic attire, my corset fetish and anything that it out of the ordinary. I own 7 corsets with No.8 & 9 in the process of being designed and constructed. I also create 'alternative lifestyle' dolls as well under the name of Mistress Violet. You can see some of my 'slaves' by clicking on the Mistress Violet link on the One Sixth website....

Yep... all finished now...

*end guff*
