TREASURES INK.is an online Australian business which grew out of my interest in collecting antique original prints ie; Etchings, Engravings, Lithographs, Photogravures etc., many of which date from the 1700's through to the Belle Epoque (late 1800's to early 1900's). Prior to modern photographic print methods original prints were produced individually, and with great skill, by the artisans of the time. Unlike modern, mass produced prints, each image was engraved or etched into a block of wood or a sheet of metal before being inked and stamped onto paper. Each print is considered to be a work of art in it's own right. Such labour intensive print methods are now only used by artists to produce the artwork for paper money or fine art prints (ie; etchings) due to the time and skill involved.
