I'd been earning extra pocket money developing and printing for some of the servicemen at RAF Khormaksar in Aden and eventually saved just enough to buy a brand new Yashica 635 - a big step up from my Halina. The 635 cost /font>35 (with case)  in UK but I paid considerably less due to Aden's duty-free status. I actually wanted a Yashica-Mat but could not afford the extra cost. I was 12 years old and the year was 1963. Photography was my passion and apart from my other hobbies (fishing and guns), taking photos, developing and printing consumed much of my time. I became the 'official' school photographer, taking class photos and school sports days, and the Yashica 635 produced some wonderful images.

40 years later I've rekindled my interest in photography and started collecting classic film cameras of the type I have used over the years. Yashica holds special place in my collection and I have most of the 6x6 TLR cameras. I'm continually looking for immaculate cameras and if I find one just slightly better than one I have then I buy it. The result of this is that cameras from my collection are coming up for sale from time-to-time plus the ones I've bought and reconditioned, and finding appreciative homes with other Yashica fans.
