Where did you find that?!?

on eBay, of course/h2> Okay, I didn't find it on eBay, but you can.

My name is demhareis( 46Feedback score is 10 to 49) . I'm a Rare Bird, and I specialise in rare bird things.

Yeah? What sort of things?

Glad you asked. I seem to have an eye for those hidden treasures that most people give away or overlook. Vintage, retro, or just plain unusual--I find it. And when I do, I stick it up on eBay just for you. Often I'll find something that can't be found anywhere else on eBay.

Yeah? Like what?

Oh, rose petal beads... a unique pair of shoes or exotic South American jewelry... Maybe a corset or two... It all depends on what I find here.

Is all your stuff this exotic?

Nah. Sometimes I have some plain old stuff up, stuff that lots of other people are flogging on eBay.

So what makes your stuff so special?

I know exactly what I'm selling, and you can too. All you have to do is read my description. Some people stick stuff up on eBay, but don't tell you much about it. This can lead to disappointment on the part of the buyer. But with my lovely little treasures, I'll tell you what size, what shape, where it came from or the history of the item. I do my best to let you know what you're bidding on.
Frex: say you want to buy Series II of Mondo figurines. Have a look on eBay, and you could easily find a dozen items up for auction, most of 'em bulk packs. So, which one are you gonna bid on? Well, the one that lists exactly which figurines are in the pack--including the rare Babylon figurine you've been trying to find for almost a year! Chances are, that auction is mine. Bid away!
So I do my best to make sure you know exactly what you are buying.

Yeah, that sure is a lot of information. But I still have questions.

So ask away! I'll cheerfully answer questions and give you further info if you so wish it.

Gee, thanks!

Welcome.

NEWS FLASH

I now offer cheaper postage rates!

Due to the power of bulk buying, I am now able to offer cheaper postage rates. You still get adequate packaging. You also get Registered Post, to ensure your package arrives, and insure it if it doesn't.

For example:
You buy a set of Mondo figurines including that lovely rare one you've been looking for. Not only is your set complete, but you've only got to pay $8.00 to have them shipped.

Eight bucks?!?

Yep. Lots cheaper than the $10.50 postage originally cost. And the price drop is good for everything. On the average, postage seems to be about one-two dollars cheaper, depending on the packaging and a few other things.

On the whole, everyone will be paying cheaper postage. Gotta love that.

What are your postage and payment policies?

I notice that your shipping rates are slightly higher than Regular Parcel Post. Why is that?

Because I ship registered. Australia Post's Registered Post is a wonderful thing! For a small additional cost your registered parcel can be tracked if lost, and if your parcel can't be found, it is covered by insurance. That means that if the item never arrives, or arrives broken, you could get your money back! Gotta love that.

If you think it'll never happen to you, think again. It has happened to me recently. If it wasn't for Registered Post, the item would have been lost forever, and there would have been a couple of very disappointed eBayers.

I prefer to ship Registered Post and will include this on any invoice I send out. I choose Registered post because items can be traced if lost and if they cannot be recovered, or they arrive damaged, they are insured and you can get your money back. I always ship registered items in protective packaging. Regular post is cheaper, yes, but once I post it, I cannot be responsible for any lost or damaged items. If you wish to go regular post instead of registered, please contact me prior to payment. I'm happy to go with your wishes, but again, I prefer registered.

Oh. So if I want regular parcel post, or--better yet--prepaid sachel, I can request that from you?

Sure. But in the rare chance that your item gets lost or damage in shipping, you're out of luck.

How can I save money on shipping?

Easy! Buy two or more items from me within seven calendar days and I'll combine shipping and give you a discount. Depending on the nature of the items, that can be as much as 50% off what you would normally pay if you were to ship the two items separately. Contact me if you are interested in my shipping items you've won together. You only have to pay one Registered Post fee then.

I'm also looking into getting cheaper bulk rates through the post office. More news as things happen.

Alternatively, if you live in the Perth Metro area, pick-up could be arranged.

So, I've won an auction. What sort of payment do you accept?

For Australian winners I prefer direct deposit. If you use eBay's checkout feature, you can have instant access to my bank details. I do accept money orders and bank cheques (go for money orders. They're cheaper to get than bank cheques) and I may accept other forms, but you've gotta contact me ahead of time and work out details.

For international buyers, I have, for your convenience, a PayPal account. Alternatively, I will accept money orders drawn in AU$ dollars.
(Now, here's a little secret between you and me: if you are real nice to me, and your eBay reputation holds you up, I may accept a money order drawn in US dollars or even a personal US$ check. However, the hassle with this is that it can take weeks to clear, and if your check bounces, I'll get irate, things will get messy and nobody will be happy. If you really want to pay with a US$ check, I may try and talk you into a PayPal account linked to your banking account. PayPal is free, and they're more than happy to let you write eChecks. )
eChecks through PayPal cheerfully accepted.

Fair enough.

Now, go see what I've got up on auction for you!

To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
